Prototype Build-up Technician – Mule & Test Vehicles

Assemble and integrate mule and prototype vehicles in our Beijing workshop — for German OEMs and local NEV manufacturers alike.

As a Prototype Build-up Technician at NTM Engineering in Beijing, you are the hands that turn concepts and CAD data into running test vehicles. In our Beijing workshop you assemble and integrate mule and prototype vehicles for German OEMs as well as local new-energy-vehicle (NEV) manufacturers — carrying out mechanical and electrical build-up, initial start-up and commissioning, camouflage management and full vehicle preparation for testing.

This is a craft role with real ownership and real consequence: the prototypes you build go straight into live OEM and NEV development programs, where they have to perform, survive durability loops and represent the future of the vehicle. You keep workshop equipment, tooling and the build environment in top shape, and you take pride in work that is clean, precise and repeatable.

You work alongside test and integration engineers in a tight, on-site team, and your input on buildability and fixes is heard directly — short decision paths mean a better way of doing something can be adopted the same day. High-voltage qualification (EFK/AuS) opens the door to the most interesting electrified builds on BEV and PHEV prototypes, where demand for skilled hands is highest.

This position suits a trained automotive mechanic or mechatronics technician with workshop experience at an OEM, Tier-1 or specialist shop, who wants to work on cutting-edge prototypes at the heart of China's automotive industry rather than on production-line repetition. Basic English or German helps you collaborate with our international team; Chinese is a plus.
