Work embedded at a local NEV manufacturer in Beijing, representing the engineering and quality interests of our European partners on-site.
As a Resident Engineer at NTM Engineering, you work embedded at a local new-energy-vehicle (NEV) manufacturer in Beijing, acting as our European partners' eyes, ears and technical voice inside a live OEM development site. You represent their engineering and quality interests on the ground every day — close to the prototypes, the production line and the decisions, where remote oversight simply cannot reach.
Your scope spans field analysis, warranty and quality topics, and software-update campaigns across the vehicle fleet. You investigate issues at the source, coordinate with local engineering teams, and keep information flowing cleanly between the Chinese OEM and European stakeholders — across language, time zones and two very different engineering cultures. When a topic is technical, political or both, you are the person who keeps it moving.
This is a role for someone who is equal parts automotive engineer and diplomat. You document technical status precisely, report regularly to European partners, and resolve problems on the ground before they escalate into program risks. You build trust on both sides — with local colleagues who need a reliable counterpart, and with European stakeholders who need an honest, competent view from inside the OEM.
With 5+ years of automotive engineering experience, ideally including time in a local Chinese OEM or joint-venture environment, you bring both technical depth and cultural fluency. Bilingual Chinese/English and genuine intercultural skill are what make the difference here, in one of the most strategically important resident-engineering positions in China's automotive industry.
